Why 3D on a jewelry product page
A photo shows one angle in one metal. A ring is bought for its profile, its setting and the way its stones sit, which are the details a shopper wants to turn and look at. With a 3D model, a shopper can see the gallery rail, the head from the side and the band's shoulders. They see one ring in every metal you sell, without you shooting each version.
The model comes from the CAD file used to make the ring. Every metal and stone option is the same geometry in a different colour, so what a shopper compares is the piece itself.
What shoppers see
- The ring, turning on its own centre. It turns slowly by itself and pauses while the shopper drags it. Both turn around the same point, the centre of the ring.
- Metal and stone switches. Up to four of each per model, named as you name them, for example “18K Yellow” or “Fancy Pink”. A kind with a single colour shows no switch.
- Your finish and background. Polished, brushed or matte metal, on white, any colour, or transparent so your page shows through.
- Diamonds rendered by facet. The viewer uses the same diamond renderer as the Ring Builder, and a build check fails if the two ever differ. How the renderer works.
- No Ring Facet branding on your Shopify store, on any plan.
Three ways to place it

The three work independently, and each one only appears on products that have a model. If the viewer cannot load, the gallery keeps your theme's own 3D item, and the block and the embed code hide themselves.
From CAD file to product page
- Upload a Rhino 3DM, OBJ or GLB file to Jewel Shots. What happens to your CAD file.
- Set it up in the editor: metals and stones to offer, finish, background, and any parts that keep a fixed colour, such as a white-gold head on a yellow band.
- Match products. Pick Shopify products by searching, or let Auto-match SKUs pair each model with the products whose SKU or handle matches its file name.
- Publish and choose where it shows. Later changes saved in the editor reach your product pages without publishing again.

Built around Shopify
- A native 3D item in your product media. Publishing adds one 3D model to the product in Shopify and leaves your photos and videos alone. Publishing again replaces it rather than adding another.
- Your catalogue, not all of it. The dashboard lists only the products you pick and the ones you have published, so a large store does not load thousands of products to set up a few rings.

How do I add a 3D model to a Shopify product?
Upload the ring's CAD file to Jewel Shots, choose the Shopify product it belongs to, and click Publish matched. Ring Facet adds one interactive 3D item to that product's media and leaves your images and videos as they are. Setup guide
Does it work with my Shopify theme?
The product gallery option works with Dawn and other themes whose galleries label each media item. If yours does not, use the 3D viewer block, which needs a theme that supports app blocks, or the Custom Liquid embed code, which works in any theme with a Custom Liquid section.
Can shoppers change the metal and stone colour?
Yes. You set up to four metals and four stones for each model in the editor, and shoppers switch between them in the viewer. A model with a single metal shows no metal switch.
Will it replace my product photos?
No. Publishing adds one 3D model item to the product's media. Your photos and videos stay, in the order you set.
What happens if the 3D viewer cannot load?
In the product gallery your theme's own 3D item stays in place. The 3D viewer block and the embed code hide themselves. Shoppers never see an empty frame.
Does the viewer show Ring Facet branding on my store?
No. Product viewers on Shopify never show a Ring Facet mark, on any plan.
How many products can show a 3D viewer?
